Storage

Besides washing clothes, storage is an equally important part of maintaining your clothes.

Short- and long-term storage

Heated clothes should be stored carefully for both short-term and long-term storage to prolong the life of the heating systems. For short-term storage, such as between uses in the winter months, hang the clothes clean and dry in a well-ventilated area. For long-term storage, such as in summer, it is important to remove the batteries and store the clothes in a dry, dark place. Make sure the clothes are not folded in a way that could damage the wiring.

  1. Protection against kinking of wires
To avoid kinking or damaging the wiring in the heated clothing, it is advisable to fold the clothing as little as possible tightly. Rather, hang the clothing or fold it loosely so that the wiring is not put under pressure. Ensuring that there are no sharp folds will keep the wiring in good condition and the heated clothing retains its functionality.
  2. UV protection with special coatings
Heated clothing can be damaged over time by exposure to UV radiation, which can weaken and discolour the fabric. For long-term storage, it is a good idea to protect the clothes from direct sunlight or use storage bags with UV protection. There are also special uv coatings that can protect the fabric from this radiation, helping you preserve the quality of your clothes for longer.

Storage tips

When storing heated clothing, it is important to ensure a clean and dry storage area. Avoid damp places such as basements or garages, as this can cause mould or damage the technology. Preferably use breathable storage bags to prevent the clothes from suffocating and to keep dust out. It is also advisable to store the clothes so that the heating elements and wiring are not under pressure, such as hung on a clothes hanger or loosely folded in a drawer.
